Jake finally got his new kitten on Sunday. He and John went to a few different pet rescue places and were sent over to see the last of a litter of Maine Coon mixed kittens. There were only two kittens left, both males, we have never had a male pet before, Jake immediately took a liking to the long haired brother, mostly because his litter mate was passed out and snoring. Jake and John passed all the questions on the application and were given permission to adopt the cat named Mannix. John started having second thoughts about leaving the lone brother who was still sleeping. He called me and asked if it was okay to get both and I said, "Sure, why not?" When they were cleared for the other kittens adoption they found out his name was Columbo. All of the kittens in the litter had been named after 70's detective shows. John immediately said it was a sign since Columbo is one of my all time favorite shows. Jake and John brought home the new kittens to meet us and Twister. Twister is not too keen on her new house mates but she'll get used to them. Or she'll spend the rest of her life trying to ignore them. Jake renamed his long hair Shinjuku, after his favorite place in Tokyo. I kept the name Columbo on the other one for good luck.
